Our History
Our story begin in a richful taste country, Malaysia, 1970.
In 1970, our founder, Raden Tan Sheng Hao and Dylan Low Sheng wei had started to sell coffee in a coffee shop (or more authentic name, "kopitiam") in Taman Bunga Raya, Setapak, Kuala Lumpur. During that time, the coffee shop's name was "Sheng Coffee". As our founders sold good quality and tasteful coffee, total sales of coffee had increased rapidly and soon became famous in the area nearby.
As Sheng Coffee had became more popular, they decided to change the coffee shop to Pasar Seni. In order to attract more customers to enjoy the coffee, Dylan Low went to Italy to learn to brew Italic style coffee, then brought back the technics to Malaysia.
After studied the way to brew Italic style coffee, Dylan Low invented our most significant coffee, which is Asian Dolce Latte. To integrate the Italic environment, our founder had changed the name from Sheng Coffee to Baristopia and renovated the coffee shop.
After our founder invented Asian Dolce Latte, Baristopia had won many awards including Best Invention of Coffee of the Year, Baristo'Compete, Top Selling Coffee in Malaysia, International Coffee Festival, Michellin Star Awards and so on.
